Beauty Truth Goodness

The Ghent Altarpiece, by Jan van Eyck, 1432, is one of the best examples of Sacred Art that displays Beauty, Truth and Goodness.

The Roman Catholic Church holds these three transcendentals, Beauty, Truth and Goodness, in high esteem as they always point to the glory of God.

Lectio Divina and Visio Divina provide Beautiful, True and Good Contemplative Prayer through Scripture and Sacred Art.

Several years ago, I offered a worship aid for those incarcerated or those challenged by images on the internet. Please find this prayer suggestion in four downloads: Introduction to Day 2; Day 3 to Day 5; Day 6 to conclusion; and Brochures to accompany each day. (The front of a brochure for each day is placed within the booklet for instruction.)

Additionally, here is another worship aid I offered for college aged women to pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary using both Lectio Divina and Visio Divina.

While presenting this, I also included time for prayerfully creating a simple Icon with watercolors while listening to Gregorian Chant beside a dimly lighted (battery) votive.

Please find this prayer suggestion in three downloads: The Joyful Mysteries; Color Icon (for reference); Black and White Icon (to be painted).

Let’s pray…
